Greetings and Blessings to you all!

Hi, I am Electric Inee (Magic Lantern Lee).

One day, I became famous when Madame Chinchilla of Triangle Tattoo and Museum used my photo for the back cover of Electric Tattooing by Women, 1900 - 2003. I am the one with beehive hairdo (yes, it is all my hair and a couple of secret weapons are hidden in it). My hairstyle indicates my fantasy for being a revolutionary for humanity's liberation through fun and creativity, which got me into tattooing a long time ago.

I will use the same statement I made for the publication of the book, Electric Tattooing by Women, 1900-2003. You can read this on the back cover and more on page 56 in the same book as well:

Where I came from (South Korea), tattooing was almost extinct. In fact, under the military dictatorship, any men with tattoos were sent to a labor camp. For women, tattoo was unthinkable.

In 1981, I moved to New Orleans and soon I was practicing the art of tattooing, pushing ink and pigments under the skin of Cajuns, beautiful Creole prostitutes, merchant marines and French Quarter eccentrics.

I was swept away by these tattooed people with colorful characteristics. I found that I had a lot in common with them.

I felt I had finally found my long lost tribal people. I love that instant intimacy tattoo gives ... and there is this love, a kind of love only two drunkards share ... I was ripe for Tattooed. Or it could be just as simple, that I wanted to be a giraffe from a jackass. Or an easy way to join the circus, or a revolution with a gun.

I am returning to my beloved, sweet art of tattooing after a long break due to mothering and returning to academia.

I am a seasoned/expert tattoo artist who has "been there, done that," meaning I have done both walk-in and custom tattoos. Now I am back with passion for creating tattoos that could be recognized by my own creative style. Before, I did not even think about developing my personal style, because I was just having too good a time tattooing, simply forgot about it.

Upon my return, now I am deeply interested in creating signs, symbols, images of goddesses of the world and Magic Lanterns.

In my early years, I have attended Seoul College of Arts and John McCrady Art School in New Orleans. I've always had passion and love for words and fine arts since my childhood.

From 1981 - 1983: tattooed at Body Art, in New Orleans.

From 1984 - 1994: tattooed at Great Goldfield's Tattoo, in San Francisco.

From 1995 - present: seasonal guest tattooist at Triangle Tattoo & Museum, Fort Bragg, CA

Currently a doctoral student in Women's Spirituality at California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS) in San Francisco, I have learned a great deal about ancient traditions and arts of goddess-centered civilizations, where in pre-historical times (Paleolithic and Neolithic period), peace and art loving people lived in egalitarian way throughout the world, and their creativity flourished, even in Europe, where many former empires that colonized the rest of the world brutally exist.

To balance masculinized divinity-centered cultural, social, political, historical, spiritual path that is taking us into destruction of humans, our mother earth, we need to carry magical and healing images to spread peace, love, compassion, justice, fun, creativity, abundance. I would like to tattoo signs, symbols and images that empower us, to restore ancient arts for peace and to add more magical power. I would really like to illustrate your skin with such signs, symbols, images as are illustrated by Monica Sjoo and those from books by Marijah Gimbutas.

In addition, because my long time friends Madame Chinchilla and Jan loved my magic lantern tattoo so much that they suggested: I continue to create lanterns that give magical powers to people. So I will continue to make magic lanterns. May Lantern Magic Be With You!

It is my great honor to work with many great artists, Karen Roze, Jean Chen, Giotto, Buffy, Mark Bode, KC Angel, Natasha, Dolores, and Amanda (from Chico!) at Sacred Rose Tattoo, in Berkeley - the "Home of Free Speech." I thank Karen for giving me a job for tattooing and for showing how much a female tattoo artist in the next generation can achieve today: mothering, tattooing, business-incredible!

My special thanks to Dolores for greeting me with the most beautiful and brightest smile in the whole world when I walked into Sacred Rose Tattoo Studio/ SR Gallery.

There is a good vibration here and incredible creativity going on all the time. I am looking forward to having a good time here at Sacred Rose.

Rose, a symbol of goddess, her deep beauty folding and unfolding in her many layers of mystery and beauty right here at our tattoo studio.

So please come on down and get that special goddess and Magic Lantern tattoo!

No Pain, No Brain, No Tattoo.
